(Disneyland, 1987) This unique and exquisite artwork was one of the first pieces ever sold at the Disneyland Gallery in 1987 - the first year the Gallery opened in Disneyland. A beautiful limited edition print featuring Hollywood production designer and Disney Legend Harper Goff's concept art for a scene in the "Jungle Cruise" attraction. The original artwork for this limited edition was inspired by the Hepburn/Bogart film "The African Queen" when Goff sketched it in 1954. Faithfully recreated for this limited edition release in 1987 and named "Native Village, Jungle Cruise". This hand-numbered 195/300 is signed by Harper Goff in the lower-right corner. Measures 29" by 14". This is an extraordinary piece of Disneyland History and an extremely rare piece being signed by one of Walt Disney's first Imagineers who was among the very few to work on concept art as well as the construction of the park itself. It was Harper Goff who originally walked the ground of Anaheim marking with a stick the path that the Jungle Cruise boats would eventually take. The artwork remains in good condition with normal wear from age and minimal handling and includes the original 1987 Certificate of Authenticity from the Disneyland Gallery. Harper Goff passed in 1993 in Palm Springs, CA. Item comes with a Grand Circle Tour Auctions COA.
