(Disneyland, Art Corner, c. 1960). The Art Corner of Disneyland opened in 1955 and operated in the park until 1966. During this time, the Art Corner made available "cherry-picked" animation cels from Walt Disney animation feature films like "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", "Pinocchio", "Dumbo", "Peter Pan" and "Sleeping Beauty." The Art Corner is remembered for its historical place in preserving and making available to the public, Disney animation cels. As it had been common in the past for Disney cels to be washed and reused or just thrown away. Offered here is a very rare "Maleficent" & :Diablo" production cel that was screen used in Walt Disney's 1958 animated feature film release of "Sleeping Beauty." Since it's premiere, Maleficent has been one of the most beloved Disney villains with a legacy that permeates the parks and movies still today. Maleficent acting as the central villain in Disneyland's nightly event "Fantasmic!" and with recent and upcoming Disney Maleficent movies starring Angelina Jolie. A truly rare find as it was one of the few of the Maleficent cels sold through Disneyland, being picked shortly after the film's release. And especially given that limited time Maleficent and Diablo share the screen. The production cel is in good condition with normal wear from age and minimal handling, and has slight rippling. Maleficent and Diablo are original but the background is a copy that has been added for display. The cel comes with a Van Eaton Gallery COA and has its original Disneyland Art Corner seal on the back also acting as a COA and identifying the cel as being originally sold in Disneyland. The frame measures approximately 17" x 15" and the viewable art dimension that lies within the matting is 10" x 8", though the artwork itself extends a little beyond these dimensions.

In House shipping is available for a fee. Cost of materials, labor, and transportation. We also work with third party shippers or can take items to a shipping store of your choice. Freight shipping is also an option. Please ask for a freight quote before bidding on items that require freight shipping. We will only ship to the address registered on your payment account. If you need something shipped to a different address then it is the buyers responsibility to update your payment info's address. For example, if you pay by paypal we will only ship to the address that is registered to that paypal account. Please contact us in advance if you need an item shipped to a separate address. Local pick up is an option as well. Must provide ID and sign off on item(s). If ID does not match the winning bidders information we will not release item(s).
