DEMO LOT
(Disneyland, c. 2006). Don Edgren began working with Walt Disney in 1954, being a major contributor to the planning and engineering of Disneyland. Don was placed in charge of leading the Imagineering team for New Orleans Square Pirates of the Caribbean. He also worked on the initial master planning for Walt Disney World and in 1969 moved to Florida as Vice President, Engineering of the Walt Disney World project. After the opening of Walt Disney World, Don moved back to WED in California and led the Imagineering team on Space Mountain. In 1979, Don acted as the director of engineering for the new project of Tokyo Disneyland. Don returned to WED in California in 1983 where he was in charge for project engineers. He retired in 1987 from the Walt Disney Company. There are few early Imagineers that have had such a long and impactful engineering and innovative influence on Disney's theme parks. Offered here is a very rare Disney WED Team created and signed Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney World art piece, presented to Don Edgren just prior to leaving for Florida to start work on Disney's second theme park home, Walt Disney World. Don passed away on December 28, 2006 in Eugene, Oregon.
