This is a faithful representation of the Cirrus X3 Rocketpack from the 1991 film the Rocketeer. It exceeds the quality of the original and is one of very few made out of metal rather than resin. While the creator of the Rocketeer was illustrator Dave Stevens, the original prop for the film was designed by the director Joe Johnston along with artist Ed Eyth, and built by Michael Possert Jr. This metal version was hand crafted by David J. Guyton at Armor Templates. The sheet metal is 3003 H14 aluminum in both .063 and .050 thicknesses. Various other parts are also 1/8" aluminum plate. All sheet metal parts are hammered and finished by hand. The vents and the nosecones are cast in pewter. The engines are cast resin. This is a gorgeous piece. 1 of only 10 made and includes the coin/plate indicating its design number. Includes a letter of authenticity from the fabricator.
