Original photo that hung in Phil Tippett studio from the production of the Robert Guenette directed television documentary film 'Dinosaur!' (1985), a landmark piece of paleo-media hosted by Christopher Reeve, best remembered for its groundbreaking stop-motion visual effects created by legendary animator Phil Tippett. Broadcast on CBS on November 5, 1985, the special earned Tippett Studio its very first award—a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in 1986.
This lot is part of the Phil Tippett Collection and will come with a co-signed COA by Phil Tippett.
Phil Tippett is the founder and namesake of Tippett Studio. His varied career in visual effects has spanned more than 30 years and includes two Academy Awards; and six nominations, one BAFTA award and four nominations, two Emmys and the advent of modern digital effects in motion pictures.
He is the inventor of the Stop-Motion technique called Go-Motion and even has a dinosaur species named after him: Elaphrosaurus philtippettorum.
