Serial #407149 Caliber 405 WCF Manufactured 1920. Made famous by Theodore Roosevelt, the .405 Winchester was his “Good Medicine For Lions”. This fine example is the Deluxe checkered pistol grip variation with takedown option and is fitted with Lyman sliding receiver sight and Winchester sling swivels and studs. The wood stocks are of highly figured American walnut and the forearm is checkered in the “H” pattern and the stock has a shotgun butt. The classic American big game lever action suitable for a President. Rifle remains in fine condition with period wear but elegant and serviceable. C&R
