DWM 1914 ARTILLERY LUGER SEMI AUTO PISTOL RIG.
Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 5785a. Bbl. 8". Chamber dated 1917. Matching numbers throughout including grips w/ left additionally marked "F" & right w/ "V". Toggle pivot unnumbered. Fine tune sights also matching numbered components including front sight blade. Correct proofs. Strawed sm. parts & appropriate internal areas in the white. MAGS: 1 fair to good stained appearing tin plated 8 rd. cleaned of light oxidation. Wood base numbered "9538d +". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: matching numbered, great looking & conditioned stock / holster far superior to most examples. Very little signs of wear such as scratches on board back opposite holster. Holster dyed black & supple; brown under flap. Leather around end of stock & holster is dark brown. Strap around holster & stock w/ stud is added repair to original. Shoulder strap uniquely intertwined through stock, has slight cracking & medium brown appearance; dated 1915. Medium brown strap w/ stud from to over holster top, somewhat cracked w/ aged original appearance. Back of holster unmarked. Very good ears on flap covering cleaning rod handle. Near excellent cleaning rod. Loading tool w/ crown proof. B/N 32 rd. snail drum w/ reinforcing rings & stamped winder; both halves matching numbered. Very good appearance w/ black enamel finish & crown S proof. Strong spring tension. Scattered light pitting on bottom of drum. Balance w/ occasional spots of peppery to light oxidation only. Portion inserted into pistol very good w/ light rub marks; no spacer or cover. B/N loading tool w/ crown D proof & "m". Even patina finish throughout w/ hint of finish in protected areas. Smooth functioning. CONDITION: very good overall appearance w/ minimal high point wear such as front of frame, sideplate & muzzle. Good straw colors w/ occasional faint staining most noticeable on safety lever. Very good grips w/ occasional diamond top damage & slight wear; left best appearing. Very good to excellent bore w/ hint of frosting in grooves & ever so slight wear. Very slight pinprick oxidation on backstrap. All markings especially clear & appearance of original finish. A great example of Artillery Model. (20-1554/NW). CURIO. $4,000-6,000.
