DEMO LOT
W/ MILITARY HOLSTER & STRAP. Cal. 7.65mm Luger. S# 1142. This is an excellent example of an early Swiss Model 1900 Army Luger, 1st series, third variation Luger with the relieved frame and update magazine. As per all the Swiss M1900 Lugers, major parts are rust blued with strawed or fire blued small parts. The chamber area is roll marked with the Swiss Cross in Sunburst and the DWM monogram is on the toggle. Interestingly the face of the grip safety has been engraved with the previous owner"s name (A ORMOND). Early features include the dished toggles with toggle lock, flat breech bolt, flat spring extractor, narrow trigger and narrow grip safety but with the second pattern safety lever that has the smaller checkered head. It still retains the 4.75" fast taper barrel chambered in 7.65 Luger and the chamber has the desirable Swiss Cross in Sunburst markings over the chamber with DWM marked toggle. It has the later slightly larger Swiss Army acceptance proofs on the side of the barrel extension and the rear of the frame. The left side of the barrel extension is stamped with the Geneva Cross/V for the Swiss inspector Herr Vogelsang. Fitted with checkered walnut grips. Disassembly shows all matching numbers. MAGS: correct Swiss with the tin plated magazine body, thicker follower button and unnumbered wooden base with the metallic disc on each side. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather holster marked "E. MINTERMANN/SATTLER/GATTIKON (ZURICH) 08" on the obverse surface along with strap. The holster with shoulder strap is in very good condition with light fading of the color mixed with some flex/age wear on the face of the holster. Markings on obverse surface are distinct and stitching intact. The front and back of the lower toe shows more wear and age cracking with a repair on the back. CONDITION: excellent overall with 97% plus of the original blue finish showing only minor edge and high spot wear on the sideplate, edges of the frame rails and some light scratches on the lower front strap. The smaller parts retain 65% of their straw color with the majority of the finish loss on the face of the trigger. Discreetly import marked using a fine laser etching method in an unobtrusive area. The grips are near excellent with nice distinct checkering showing only minor light wear across the tops of the checkering and no handling marks. The pistol hand cycles and dry fires correctly and the bore is near excellent. PROVENANCE: From the esteemed collection of Paul Regnier, Switzerland. (20-1415/LA). CURIO. $3,500-5,500.
