DANISH & US MILITARY ROLLING BLOCK RIFLES.
1) DANISH MODEL 1867/96. Cal. 11.35mm CF. S# 47981. Bbl. 35 3/8" w/ military blade front sight & 2,000m graduated leaf rear sight. Upgraded action has firing pin indicator/retractor mounted in breech block. Left side of frame has Danish proof mark over "M-1867". Top tang is marked "KJOBENHAVNS TOIHUUS. 1875". 3 Band walnut forearm w/ slotted tip iron ramrod & sling swivel. Walnut musket stock w/ steel buttplate, sling swivel & brass disk on right side. Toeline of stock is stamped "47981", comb of stock has "GC" proof. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: saber bayonet w/ 21 1/2" blade. Blade is marked "GEBR. WEYERSBERG / SOLINGEN". Crossguard marked "48670" & "18643". Checkered grip panels show heavy wear. Blade & metal shows scattered light pitting. CONDITION: bbl. retains faded blue in protected areas around rear sight w/ balance fading to gray showing scattered very light pitting. Action retains faint traces of case colors fading to gray. Stock & forearm have worn finish showing numerous dents & handling marks. Bore retains strong rifling showing sm. spots of pitting. (01-17628/DS) 2) NEW YORK NATIONAL GUARD REMINGTON NO. 1. Cal. 50-70. NSN. Bbl. 36". Military blade front sight w/ graduated leaf rear sight. Bbl. has inspection marks "S" on left side & "P" on right side. Left side of receiver has "B" inspection mark. Top tang has 3 line address, last patent date Nov. 7th, 1871. 3 Band forearm w/ sling swivel & slotted tip ramrod. Walnut musket stock w/ steel musket buttplate. Buttplate peak is stamped "12" above the screw & "C/48" behind the screw. Both side of stocks at wrist have partially visible cartouches. Left side of butt has partially visible cartouche over "D / 26" & number "135". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: socket bayonet w/ 18" triangular blade. Shank of blade marked "I / 39 / 11". Bayonet shows dark corrosion & pitting. CONDITION: bbl. & action finish have faded to gray showing areas of pitting. Stock & forearm show heavy wear w/ dents, scratches, & sm. chips along ramrod channel & around action. Heel of buttplate shows heavy red rust. Bore is generally bright w/ intact rifling showing 3 rings towards muzzle end. (01-17631/DS). ALL ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
