Serial #22579, caliber .45 Colt, Barrel 5-1/2” Manufactured 1889. Produced by Colt with six shot fluted cylinder and nickel finish. Mounted with Colt checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt monogram. Period shortened to current 5-1/2” length from 7-1/2” original length barrel with front dovetail sight installed. These large frame revolvers saw hard use on the frontier and resulted in many custom modified configurations. The nickel finish appears to be original with slight wear and flaking at muzzle and high points from period use. Chambered for the powerful .45 Colt cartridge. Revolver remains in a pleasant condition with a well-toned period appearance. ANTIQUE
