(Disney, c.1949) A collection of (9) Mellomen recordings. The voices of the Mellomen quartet were once so commonly heard in Walt Disney Productions feature length films and short films of the 1950s, including Alice in Wonderland, episodes of the Disneyland television series, and the Zorro miniseries. Thurl Ravenscroft was a founding member, with these recording having been made in 1949, a year after the group was founded. The records hold a total of 90 tracks performed by the Mellomen, renowned for their a capella performances, featuring such familiar classics as "A Bird in a Gilded Cage," "Ta-Ra-Ra Boom-De-Ay," and "Bill Bailey Won't You Please Come Home." This unusually large 16" format was specifically made for radio stations. Measuring 16" the 33 1/3 rpm vinyl records with original Capitol Records labels display in a fine condition, exhibiting few scratches and minor wear to sleeves and envelope with original stamp.
