Artist: Colin Campbell Cooper | 1856-1937
Title: New York Winter Scene
Signed l/r: C. C. Cooper
Medium: Oil on panel
Dimensions: 16 by 20 inches

Condition: Very Good
To the unaided eye, this piece appears to be in very good condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a normal fluorescence of the artist's pigments, meaning there are no signs of damage or restoration. A small amount of varnish has chipped off the piece along the upper edge, which appears to have been caused by the painting shifting within the frame. The piece is framed in an ornate gold and stained wooden frame with an ornate gold liner. The frame and liner are in fair condition. A good amount of the molded details have chipped off of both of these and there are scratches and scuffs throughout. The liner has a five inch crack along the upper right edge and is separating in the the upper and lower right corners.
