(1960) Here is an incredible piece of Hollywood and Rock and Roll history, not to mention Hawaiiana and Tiki! Here is an original Panavision storyboard concept for the opening credits of Elvis Presley's BLUE HAWAII feature film. Produced by Hal Wallis and Art directed by Hal Pereira, the film took advantage of the beauty of the natural islands as much as possible. In the opening sequence, upon Elvis' character, Chad Gates' return from the Army, he drives through Waikiki passing scenic areas as the credits roll. Here is a shot of a palm strewn beach area which matches a shot in the film. This art was sold many years ago with other artwork from the art department which could have come from the hand of Dave Constable or Robert Ayres whom both worked on the film yet are uncredited. See enclosed screen grabs. The art is gorgeous and comes in its original presentation pitch mat. The mat is in poor condition and the painting would benefit from new mat and framing. 35"x10". VG+ with minor tears and wear.
