Cal. 38 Super. S# 12462. Bbl. 5". Mfg. 1931. Blued w/ fully checkered walnut grips. Checkered short trigger, slide stop, safety tab & wide spur hammer. Wide semi circular front sight w/ corresponding square notch drift adj. rear. Earliest variation w/ thin bbl. Left front of trigger guard w/ 1" over VP proof. Top right front of trigger guard numbered 60. 1911A1 style grip safety & coarse checkered arched mainspring housing. MAGS: none. CONDITION: very good overall appearance w/ high point wear throughout plus 2 wear spots on front strap near left side. Light diamond top wear on grips. Near excellent bore. Face of bbl. bushing has circular recess; purpose unknown. Body of bbl. reduced .020"; front 1/4" is standard diameter. Fitted lugs & bushing; possibly factory as some were optionally hand fitted. Also has superb trigger pull. (19-5791/NW). CURIO. $2,500-4,000.
