Cal. 45 ACP. S# 720516. Bbl. 5". Mfg. 1941 (4,696 units) along w/ 500 units by Singer; both Army contract. Matching numbered slide w/ modified front sight having squared face & thin layer of copper added to top rear half yielding sm. copper aiming point at rear. U notch rear sight. High Standard bbl. instead of Colt Type 6. All checkered controls w/out milling cuts for slide lock or safety tab. Coarse checkered arched mainspring housing. Fully checkered walnut grips. CSR inspector marks by slide stop & disconnector. Left side of trigger guard has "T" over "VP" proof; right side w/ "69". MAGS: 2 7-rnd. blued mags marked "Colt/45 Auto" on baseplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: good black snap latch flap holster w/ brass web belt hooks plus belt loop. CONDITION: fair overall appearance w/ no finish remaining on slide that has light pitting & stained appearance plus extractor protruding at rear. Significant wear in grip area w/ front strap having cleaned light pitting. High point wear & scratches throughout mixed w/ areas of light oxidation. Noticeably worn grips; especially near butt & most noticeably on right. Stripped lower right grip screw bushing. Fair bore w/ wear & even frosted appearance. (20-437/NW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
