Cal. 223. S# LGC032156. Bbl. 16". Between the years of 1994 & 2004 the legality of domestic firearms was determined largely by their aesthetics & attributes. For the first time guns became classified as pre ban & transitional in regard to federal law. After the sunset of the 1994 AWB, firearms that were made w/ in that slot immediately became legal again & many were sold onto the hungry civilian market. This is one of those examples. The pencil profile bbl. w/ bayonet lug would have been problematic during that time. As Federal law required, the right side of mag. well was marked “RESTRICTED”, “MILITARY/GOVERNMENT”, “LAW ENFORCEMENT/EXPORT”, “USE ONLY”. Left side of mag. well marked “AR-15 A2” “GOVT CARBINE” “CAL. 223”. Sights are traditional gas block/bayonet lug combo. Plastic carbine length rnd. handguards. Tapered delta ring. Threaded muzzle w/ A2 flash hider. Four position collapsible buttstock. Carry handle upper receiver & E2 sight w/ brass deflector & rnd. forward assist. Sling swivels front & rear. MAGS: 1-20 rd. aluminum. CONDITION: finish on exposed metal surfaces contains light scratching throughout as typical w/ cramped storage. Bore is shiny w/ strong rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (21-748/JZ). MODERN. $600-1,000.
