Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). S# 103006. Bbl. 5". Mfg. 1884 w/ black powder frame using screw to secure cyl. pin. One piece walnut grip w/ unusual shaped bone inlays. Void of cal. marking & front sight blade. Matching numbered cyl., trigger guard & backstrap. Marked "H" above firing pin hole plus "767" on loading gate. CONDITION: fair overall appearance w/ no finish & cleaned surfaces throughout. Front sight blade removed w/ file marks remaining. Bbl. cut to present length w/ well rounded contour for ease of holstering. Fair well worn grip somewhat loose in frame that is proud of grip. Inletting of bone appears owner / hobbiest workmanship. Metal finish under ejector housing consistent w/ exterior indicating originally blued finish rather than nickel. Chip out of cyl. bushing that is stuck in cyl. Weak ejector spring; hammer & loading gate have noticeably stiff springs. Hammer notches compromised or nonexistent. Timing is noticeably off unless hammer is fully retracted. Occasional light marks on bbl. Ejector housing has cleaned pitting on most areas; especially front. Replacement screws in backstrap; better blued condition. Fair to good bore w/ wear & even cleaned pitting. (01-17673/NW). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,800.
