Cal. 56-50. S# 6702. Bbl. 22" rnd. Standard configuration. This is a well made carbine that shot Spencer ammunition & was introduced late in the war. This is an honest example. Spring loaded bolt breech mechanism. Lock marked in 3 lines "JOSLYN FIREARMS CO / STONINGTON CONN / 1864". Breech & bbl. tang both S# "6702". CONDITION: very good overall. Markings are sharp. Breech retains traces of finish. Lock, hammer & trigger guard retain strong traces of case colors. Stock is sound, refinished w/ cosmetic blemishes & no visible inspector's cartouches. Mechanics are crisp w/ crisp rifled bore. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Dan Poppen. (01-17315/JS). ANTIQUE. $700-900.
