Cal. 44. S# 138888. Standard configuration of the most popular Civil war sidearm, 8" rnd. bbl. w/ 1 line New York address. Sm. "COLT PATENT" on left side of frame. 1 Piece walnut stocks have 2 cartouches & most other parts have inspector's initials. CONDITION: good overall, appears all original & complete. All matching S#s. Metal is a mottled gray brown patina w/ staining & pitting. Rolled naval battle cyl. scene is mostly discernable. Stocks well fit w/ hand worn patina. Both cartouches visible in outline only. Mechanically fine w/ well defined rifled bore. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Dan Poppen. (01-17326/JS). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
