REVOLVER. Cal. 31. S# 202684. Made in 1862 at the peak of the Civil War. 4" Oct. bbl., brass pin front sight & standard 2-line Hartford address. Left side of frame marked "COLT'S PATENT" & has a 6 shot cyl. w/ stagecoach hold up scene roll marking. Silver plated brass trigger guard & backstrap contain a 1 piece varnished walnut grip. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: purple velvet lined mahogany case, partitioned for the revolver, 2 piece "Colt's Patent" brass mold, 2 sided eagle flask, Japanned cap tin & loose balls. CONDITION: very good overall. Strong traces of blue are found in protected areas. Rolled cyl. scene is crisp & easily discerned. Cyl. retains 5 crisp safety pins. Trigger guard & backstrap retain most of their silver plate. Well fit grips retain virtually all original factory varnish w/ moderate edge wear. Mechanics are fine w/ crisp frosted bore. Case is sound & solid w/ light scratches & blemishes. Accessories are good. (01-17286/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
