Cal. 58. NSN. Standard configuration. Bbl. 33" rnd. having proofs at breech. Lock is marked "US" along w/ eagle over "REMINGTON'S / ILION N.Y." & "1863" rear of hammer. 2 Leaf rear sight & distinctive Remington part cylindrical front sight & bayonet lug. Brass mounted w/ each part having an inspector initial. 2 Inspector cartouches are found on stock opposite lock. 1 Cartouche has initials "BH" (Benjamin Hannis). The accompanying bayonet also has his inspection. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: bayonet. CONDITION: very good overall. All original & matching. Traces of finish are found on bbl. & lock. Brass has been cleaned, light mustard patina. Stock is sound & solid w/ scattered storage dings, nicks & scratches. Mechanically fine w/ crisp shiny bore. (01-17131/JS). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,500.
