SERIAL NUMBER N/A BARREL 5 5/8" CALIBER 65 SMOOTH BORE MANUFACTURED CIRCA 1780. Produced in London by Griffin with Queen Ann style single shot with turn barrel. Originally flint lock and later converted to percussion. Cannon barrel design with one piece smooth walnut grip with stunning silver grip caps embossed with a magnificent stand of arms. Elegant silver stand of arms mounted on the left side of the grip above the trigger. Barrel and breech engraved with broad scroll and London proofed on underside of breech. Top of wrist is masterfully incise carved with traditional clamshell and scrolls. Pistols are cased in wooden display case that was probably mated to the pair at time of conversion to percussion and include barrel wrench, mold with spur cutter, combination turn screw / nipple wrench and leather covered brass powder flask. Stunning silver mounts and engraving and marked "GRIFFIN LONDON" on underside of bolster. CONDITIONS, Very fine with all metals remaining bright and engraving , proofs, and legends remain crisp. Bores are very fine. Stocks are excellent with a very few minor period of use impressions. ANTIQUE
