SERIAL NUMBER 2995 & 2759 BARREL7 1/2" (BOTH) CALIBER .36 BLACKPOWDER (BOTH) MANUFACTURED 1851(BOTH). Blue and case color finishes with varnished one piece walnut grips and silver plated square trigger guard and back straps. Early small brass pin front sights with notched hammer rear sight. Early Colt's New York barrel address. Roll engraved with Ormsby's Naval Engagement scene on cylinders. Marked on left side of frame "COLTS PATENT" . Varnished one piece walnut grips. Revolvers are factory cased in red velvet lined partitioned case with "COLTS PATENT" Navy powder flask , 2- 250 count Eley Brothers percussion caps, 1 sealed package of 36-100 combustible cartridges ( 6 rounds) and the correct brass straight leg dual cavity bullet mold marked "COLT'S PATENT" on top of sprue cutter. Case is complete with key and a small quantity of period lead round balls. This is and extremely scarce cased pair with the correct partitioned case for the early square guard Navy Colt Revolver. CONDITION, (#2759) fine with barrel retaining 80% blue finish and crisp markings. Lever retains 80% toned case colors. The cylinder has traces of blue with vivid Cylinder scene. The frame 5-10% case colors in protected areas. The grips are very good with 80% varnish remaining. The trigger guard and backstrap retain over 80% silver plate finish. The bore and chambers are very good, the action operates properly. (#2995) Barrel retains 20% blue finish with balance turning a period plum patina. The barrel markings are crisp. The loading lever retains 20% case colors with balance toned to plum. The frame retains 5-10% case colors in protected areas with crisp markings. The cylinder has crisp rolled Naval Engagement scene with traces of blue in protected areas. The grips are fine with over 80% varnish remaining and the square trigger guard and backstrap retain 75% silver plate. The action operates properly and bore and chambers are good. All numbers are matching on both of these early revolvers. The Colt marked flask is good with modest wear and much of the original lacquer remaining and has no impressions or broken seals. The cap tine are good with one having no label and the other retaining over 80% of the label The cartridge skins are very fine and remain sealed. The Colt revolver tool is very fine. The case is very good with solid partitions, and very fine exterior with no warpage or cracking. A suburb dual casing. ANTIQUE
