Victoria Queen, silver rupee, 1862, Bombay mint, D/II, double lines to the curves of the crown and five panels in the front jabot; Small cone above E of One, normal date and round tips to the rev. ornate, obv. of this coin is from Wyon's revised die of 1863 of the Royal Mint, struck sometime between 17th August 1863 and 30th May 1864. These were struck only at the Bombay Mint as an experiment for currency rupees. The obv. has crowned and robed bust and the curves of the Queen's crown formed with double lines like the proof/pattern issue of 1861. It is an experimental coin struck from Wyon's revised die of 1863. Rev. dated 1862, has Plain cones. PR 59; GK 276, 11.48g.
