Bear Bird belonged to Hump's band, Eat No Dogs. At the Battle of Little Bighorn, Bear Bird was at Sharpshooters Ridge during the hilltop fight using his long range rifle. It is believed this rifle was used by Bear Bird to hold down the soldiers on Reno's Hill and his name is found written on this rifle in togia.
