Main Description: British Government transferred 228 Star Carbines in May and June 1870. Blade front sight with ramp, adjustable two position folding rear sight, blued finish, receiver etched with the number 9 on left side, retains saddle ring and stud, back action lock with checkered spur hammer that functions. Two piece smooth full military wood stocks, forearm is chipped, straight grip, small cracks behind lock and upper and lower tang with inspector initials on left side. Smooth curved steel butt plate, stock cracked at toe, right side of stock has Broad arrow WD British military acceptance stamp, single barrel band.

Wear: Metal finish shows some light pitting, rust speckles, scratches, handling marks and wear. Stocks show marks, scratches and wear.
