***Auction Highlight*** Pennsylvania Volunteers Medal, July 4, 1866. 38.4mm in diameter, Quasi Proof Multi Battle Reverse R-6. Graded ms62 PL By SEGS. Up for Auction is one of the Very Few Surviving and possibly Finest Known Gettysburg Medal from the gathering in 1866 for the returning of the Pennsylvania Volunteers Flags. Severa Medals were created for this Event which occurred on July 4, 1866, only months after the Conflict had ended. The Medals were made with two reverses. One reverse talked about the returning of the flags and gave the date of the event, the second and rarer reverse is the one which lists multiple Battles. Ours is the Latter a scarcer issue. All of the medals were made in 36mm, So Called Dollar size and they were made in both copper and White Metal. Both in approximately equally numbers. What is not Equal is that only a few presentation pieces were made as Quasi Proofs for Dignitaries and commanding officers. We are proud to present to you today, the only known surviving Quasi Proof, White Metal, Gettysburg Medal. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
