Assam, Bharatha Simha (SE 1713-1719 / 1791-1797 AD), Octagonal Silver Rupee, SK. 1713, 11.03g, 23.91mm, Assamese legends in four lines on each sides, with invocation to Krishna, Obv: "Sri Sri Krishna Cha/ranaravinda Ma/karanda Pramatta/ Madhukarasya", Rev: "Sri Sri Bhagada/tta Kulodbhava Sri/Bharatha Simha Nrpasya/ Sake 1713", Lion running right, below. (RB# W5.1, KM# 405), Very fine,Very Rare.The Moamarias installed Bharatha Simha as king in Rangpur, while Gaurinatha Simha was in exile in Guwahati. Coins were struck in his name for three years during that exile and then again for a couple of years after Gaurinatha's death. The mintplace is not know for sure but it was probably Rangpur.
