Satavahanas, 'elephant' type copper coin from Vidarbha region, attributed to Siri Satakani (c.100-50 BC), fractional unit, 3.80g. Obv: Elephant with upraised trunk walking to right, horizontal triangle-headed standard above it back Shrivatsa and tree-in-railing in front; Brahmi legend Raño Siri Sadava… above. Rev: Bold Ujjain symbol with concentric circles as its orbs, one of which is modified as a 'Nandipada'; Shrivatsas (and other symbols) in quadrants.
