Mahabhojas (feudatories under the Satavahanas), lead coin of a Sadagara Mahabhoja, 'turtle' type, North Konkan region, (50-100 AD), unlisted in major publications, 1.89g. Obv: Turtle in centre, traces of a triangle-headed standard to right; Brahmi legend …(ha)bhojasa Sada(ga)… along the right margin. Rev: Indistinct.
Very fine, Very rare.
The Mahabhojas ruled over North Konkan in late first century AD. They belonged to two families, namely the Sadagaras and the Mandavas.
