Sasanian Empire/Hunnic kingdom - satrapal coinage in Sindh, gold dinar imitating Sasanian issues of Peroz I, (c.500-600 AD), not listed in major sources or SNS and of high rarity, 7.21g. Obv: Sasanian style bust of king, wearing crown with crescent and diadem, an open lotus bloom to right and traces of Pahlavi legend. Rev: bust of queen wearing horned headdress and diadem, traces of crude Pahlavi inscription to right.

Extremely fine, Exceedingling rare.

This coin is a part of the Sasanian-style dinars struck in Sindh which remain hitherto unattributed but in all likelihood are issues of the Alchon Huns, struck to the West of the Gupta Empire, as they started to raid and occupy parts of the Indian Subcontinent in their hordes. The joint portraiture of a king and a ueen is exceptional in this series.
