Panchala, monarchical coinage - alloyed copper coin of Yajnabala (c.100-200 AD), not listed in MAC, 2.28g. Obv: Rectangular incuse with three symbols and Brahmi legend Yajñabalasa below. Rev: Trident and Chhatra on a thin rectangular platform; traces of another symbol to extreme right.

Extremely fine, Very scarce.

K M Shrimali in his History of Panchala has recorded an early king called Yajnapala, but here the legend clearly reads 'Yajnabala'. The fabric is of a later type, matching with late issues of Agnimitra II and the recently known kings like Prajapatimitra and Vijayamitra.
