Maharathis in Karnataka - 'bull' type lead coin of Maharathi Sivala Rukuha…, (c.200-250 AD), unpublished in major sources, 3.72g. Obv: bull standing facing right; Brahmi legend …Sivala Rukuha… reading anticlockwise outwards around. Rev: ten-arched hill above a wavy line with a tree emanating from the top, flanked by a triangle-headed standard to left and a Shrivatsa to right.

Good very fine, Extremely rare.

This hitherto unique coin adds a new name to the repertoire of Maharathis from Karnataka. They most likely struck coins independently in the third century as the power of their overlords the Satavahanas began to decline steadily.
