Coins of Vijayanandi were discovered in a massive hoard of Magha coins in the early 1980s. They were first published by A M Shastri in an article in the 'Numismatic Digest'. The symbols on the reverse of the coin are comparable with motifs encountered on Magha sealings unearthed in Kaushambi excavations.
