Lesser Satavahanas of Banavasi - 'elephnat' type lead coin of Sivalananda (c.250-275AD), struck towards the Centre East of his realm, not listed in PAIC, 5.19g. Obv: Elephant standing left with Shrivatsa below trunk, Brahmi legend …ño Sivalanandasa above. Rev: Tree in railing in centre; Swastika to right and traces of a symbol to left.

Good very fine, Very rare.

This type of Sivalananda's coins is previously not known and bears resemblance to the coins of the Hathi dynasty in Central Andhra Pradesh. It is perhaps an indication of a short-lived conquest of the region by the lesser Satavahanas.
