Kingdom of Vatsa (Ayodhya) - cast copper coin of Shivadatta/Jeevadatta? (c.150-100 BC), not listed in PAIC, 1.13g. Obv: lion seated facing left, 'Ujjain' symbol and an uncertain symbol in its front; Brahmi legend Shi/Jeevadatasa above. Rev: traces of an elephant walking to left towards a triangle-headed standard.

Very fine, Very rare.

The first letter of the legend is unclear - it could be a 'Shi' or a 'Jee'. If the latter, the coin would be attributed to a hitherto unknown king of Ayodhya. On the other hand, 'Shivadatta' is already a known ruler in the Ayodhya series.
