Kausambi/Vatsa region, monarchical series - alloyed copper coin of Jethabhuti / Jethamita (Jyeshthabhuti / Jyeshthamitra), (c.50 BC), not listed in PAIC, 6.32g. Obv: goddess standing facing on a triangular mount; Brahmi legend Jethabhutisa to right and Kharoshthi legend ...(tha)mita… to left. Rev: standing female figure (most likely river goddess) with one hand akimbo; tree-in-railing to right.

Very fine, Extremely rare.

The type is remarkable in the sense that it is perhaps the Easternmost example of the employment of Kharoshthi script on Indian coins.
