Extremely fine, Extremely rare.

These two coins are exceptional pieces of historical evidence that conclusively dates Chandra Gupta II's reign. Both have very clear date '90' behind the head on the obverse, but the reverse legend attributes them to different rulers. This pair shows that it was in Gupta Era year 90 (AD415) that Chandra Gupta II's reign came to an end and Kumara Gupta I ascended the throne. Such clarity has not been offered from any other component of evidence on Gupta History.
