City state issues of Ancient North India of the post-Mauryan period, (c.200-150 BC) - cast lead coin of Pratishthana city-state, Eastern Punjab, not listed in PAIC, 3.44g. Obv: Elephant marching to left, Brahmi legend Patithāna above. Rev: tree-in-railing in the centre, wavy line to left; Brahmi legend Purika(ya) to right.

Very fine, Very rare.

The city-state of Pratishthana was located in the vicinity of modern Pathankot. Its coins have been recently known and most are struck as low-weight cast coins in lead.
