Archaic silver punch-marked coin - middle Ganges valley region, 'Jakhania hoard' type, traditionally attributed to 'Kasi Janapada under Kosala Janapada', (c.400-300 BC), ABBC configuration, Vimshatika standard, Rajgor series 58, no. 891, 3.96g. Obv: Four punches - 1. Whorl with anticlockwise prongs, 2. Otter/mongoose facing left, 3 and 4. '3-S' symbols. Rev: A single 'banker's mark'.

Good Very fine, Rare.

The mark on the reverse is very similar to 'worm'-like symbol seen on recently discovered series from the middle Ganga valley.
