Archaic silver punch-marked coin, Tapi-Wainganga Valley, western borders of the ancient Vidarbha region, ½ Karshapana, ABBC configuration, c.400-350 BC, not listed in Rajgor, 1.21g. Obv: Four punches - 1x elephant facing left, 1x two taurines in dotted circle, and 2x whorl with eight hands; traces of an undertype. Rev: Traces of an undertype (elephant visible).

Extremely fine, Very rare.

While it is usual to see coins of this series struck twice (flipped and struck on the reverse), this coin bears clear traces that it is struck three times - the second obverse is again struck over by a set of four new symbols.
