Ancient Malwa - post-Mauryan uninscribed die-struck copper coin of Ujjain/Maheshwar area (c.250-200 BC), not listed but similar to PAIC 736, 2.65g. Obv: Bull/horse walking to right, tree-in-railing to left, semi-circular symbol above and river with fishes below; a battle-axe standard topped with a taurine to right. Rev: 'Ujjain' symbol.

Good Very fine, Rare.

The depiction of 'battle axe standard' is unique to this very rare type of the so-called 'Ujjain' series.
