Ancient Malwa - post-Mauryan copper punch-marked coin, (c.250-200 BC), copying symbols from silver Karshapana coinage, unpublished in PAIC, 1.64g. Obv: Five symbols - 1. Sun, 2. Six-armed symbol, 3. Tree-in-railing, 4. Three-arched hill with crescent, 5. Bull facing right. Rev: the same configuration as obverse but struck in a different order.

Very fine, Very rare.

A highly unusual local punch-marked coin with interesting typological links to a predecessor coinage.
