Ancient Malwa, Ujjain region, post-Mauryan uninscribed die-struck copper coin, 'standing man' type, (200-150 BC), not in Pieper, 6.66g. Obv: Elaborate tree emanating out of a six-arched hill in the centre, man with water-pot and staff standing on a schematically depicted lotus to its left and a vertically depicted elephant to the right. Rev: 'Ujjain' symbol with solid balls in orbs, countermarked by a Shrivatsa symbol.
