DEMO LOT
Ancient Malwa, Ujjain region, post-Mauryan uninscribed die-struck copper coin, 'standing man' type, (200-150 BC), not in Pieper, 5.51g. Obv: Man standing frontally holding a water-pot and making a gesture of reassurance with right hand, indistinct symbol to left, river with fishes below and tree-in-railing to right. Rev: 'Ujjain' symbol with concentric orbs, surrounded by auspicious symbols like Shrivatsa, Nandipada, triangle-headed standard, and Swastika.
Very fine, Extremely rare.
The reverse of this coin is highly unusual in comparison with generic 'Ujjain' coins because it has many symbols. Normally, they are known to bear only one additional symbol to the 'Ujjain' symbol.
