Ancient Eastern Malwa, Dasharna area, Erikachha city-state, Betwa valley (200-150 BC), inscribed punch-marked copper coin, 3.68g. Obv: Five punches: 1x Hill, 1x Srivatsa, 1x tree-in-railing, 1x palm-tree in railing & 1x triangle headed standard in railing with traces of brahmi inscription …chham. Rev: 'Ujjain' symbol with smaller similar symbols in orbs, die struck and then punched over with two six-armed symbols and a sun symbol. Not listed in Pieper or MAC.

Very fine, Rare.

Although this coin is not inscribed, its attribution to Erikachha is certain through its symbolic configuration, fabric and typology. It shows an interesting admixture of manufacturing techniques.
