Ancient Bihar, Central area, post-Mauryan uninscribed cast copper coin typical of Rajgir region, (200-150 BC), not in MAC, 1.95g. Obv: Two figures in an ornamental border, a goddess seated on a stool in profile, one hand akimbo and carrying an attribute in the other, at right and a devotee-like human figure in profile genuflecting to her at left. Rev: Blank.

About extremely fine, Extremely rare.

The depiction of the goddess being venerated is plausibly the earliest of a kind that shows worship and devotion in a visual sense. The 'profile portrayal of the goddess is unusual and rare although parallels have been noted in the 'Saurashtra' series of archaic punch-marked coins.
