Ancient Central Malwa, Vidisha region - uniface uninscribed copper punch-marked coin, (c.200-150 BC), PAIC 878, 5.13g. Obv: four punches - 1. horse walking to right, 2. 'Ujjain' symbol, 3. elephant waling to right, 4. river with turtles and fishes. Rev: countermark of 'Ujjain' symbol above a semi-circle with criss-cross pattern.

Very fine, Rare.

The countermark on the reverse in all likelihood suggests the appropriation of this issue by the city-state of Kurapurika.
