KENTUCKY LONG RIFLE. Cal. 45. NSN. Bbl. 40" oct. Lock is percussion converted from flint by insertion of a drum; no marks visible on lockplate or bbl.; dbl. set triggers. Half stocked w/ light brown maple, three ramrod tubes, engraved 4-piece pierced patchbox w/ decorative tang & toe. Trigger guard appears to be a later replacement during time of use w/ matching patina. CONDITION: fair to good overall. Iron is overall brown rusted & pitted. Brass mts. have a mixed medium to dark mustard patina. Stock has slight cast off to left. Wood missing above lock. Lock is not functional. Bore is heavily corroded. PROVENANCE: Ex Harvey Smith Collection; Atlanta History Center 1983. (01-16559/JS). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
