Arizona is known for producing some of the largest pronghorn bucks in North America. You only need to look at the Boone and Crockett record book to see. If you truly want the chance to hunt for some of the biggest pronghorn in North America… buy this tag!
This tag is good for Any Buck Pronghorn. The hunting season is 365 days (AUGUST 15, 2024 – AUGUST 14, 2025) and includes most huntable pronghorn units (Units 1-10, 11M, 12A, 12B, 13A, 13B, 15A, 15B, 17A, 17B, 18A, 18B, portions of 19A, 19B, 30A, 31, 32, 34A, 34B, 35A, and 35B (excluding Camp Navajo in Unit 6B and Fort Huachuca in Unit 35A)) within the state of Arizona as prescribed in AZ Game & Fish rule R12-4-120 (Commission Order 29). The buyer of this tag must provide the name of the hunter to be printed on the tag to the Arizona Game and Fish Department within 60 days of the auction. The hunter to be named on the tag is also required to possess or purchase a valid Arizona hunting license (the hunting license is no longer included with the tag).
All proceeds from the sale of this tag are used to fund on-the-ground pronghorn projects like water developments, habitat enhancements, relocations, and highway mitigation research. The Arizona Antelope Foundation and the Wild Sheep Foundation absorb all costs for marketing and auctioning the tag. To date, more than $3.1 million has been raised strictly for pronghorn management through this auction tag. The Arizona Game and Fish Department is grateful to the individual hunters and the wildlife conservation organizations that continue to help fund Arizona’s pronghorn restoration program! It is a great success.
